    GRANITE CURBING < Back VERTICAL GRANITE CURBING VERSATILE GRANITE CURBING FOR ANY APPLICATION Williams Stone Company offers a full line of vertical curbing, straight or curved, in a wide variety of surface finishes, edge details and joints. Standard Sizes Widths: 4 inches and up Depths: 4 to 24 inches Lengths: up to 10 feet * Radius curves: 1 to 125 feet * Standard curbing are typically random in length (3 - 10 feet); however, cut-to-length units are available upon request. Edge Detail Options There are five basic edge details that may be specified to the exposed edges of a vertical curb: Straight edge (standard). Buzzed : 1/4-inch chamfer (or eased) edge. Rounded edge : one or both edges are chamfered and then rounded off to 1/2-inch or greater radius. Chamfer : 45-degree bevel is standard, 1/2", 3/4" or 1". Beveled mountable : 45-degree chamfer is standard, 3" x 3", 4" x 4" or 5" x 5". Joint Options There are three basic joint options that may be specified on vertical curb, depending on whether it is straight or curved: Standard : a straight 90-degree cut, with each bottom corner knocked off to aid installation and provide a point to mortar one curb to another.     GRANITE CURBING < Back SLOPED EDGING READY-TO-INSTALL SLOPED CURB EDGING As its name implies, sloped edging is installed at an angle, with the top of the curb hidden, either by dirt and grass, or by pavement. The bottom portion of the curb is also hidden by the road surface. Williams Stone Company offers a full line of sloped edging, in a variety of widths, depths and short pieces and wedges for radius curves. Standard Sizes Widths: 3 to 6 inches Depths: 9 to 12 inches Lengths: up to 10 feet Radius pieces: 4 to 6 foot lengths for 30- to 125-foot radius. 2 to 3 foot pieces for over 10- to 30-foot radius (shorts). 1 foot Wedges for 10-foot radius and under. Edge Detail Options: N/A Joint Options The only standard joint type offered on sloped edging is the Full Joint with a straight cut. Our Carlton, Georgia property is the site of two quarries that produce our most popular granites: Williams Blue SkyTM and Moonlit Rose®, which according to the USGS, sit on a vein of natural granite estimated to be over 35 miles long, two miles deep and seven miles wide. QUARRIES - EAST OTIS, MA CHESTER GRAY® & OLD BERKSHIRE® GRANITE Wire Saw at our Chester Quarry William Stone's new multi-wire saw is producing beautiful blocks of Chester Gray like the 40-ton pie Inside the Old Berkshire Quarry Wire Saw at our Chester Quarry 1/8 The Chester Quarry at our headquarters and fabrication operation in East Otis, Massachusetts, is the source of our beautiful Chester Gray®, known for it's stately dark gray granite frequented with mild white waves, that is tightly grained showing sharp contrasts between finishes. Our multiwire saw can cut granite without explosives resulting in higher yield, higher quality blocks and no blast cracks. Current inventory of our Chester is best suited for sawn pavers. Adjacent to the East Otis operation is our new Old Berkshire quarry where we have been extracting Old Berkshire® granite, a brownish gray to brown stone with large wavy grain that is proving very popular as for wall stone. QUARRIES - CARLTON, GA WILLIAMS BLUE SKY GRAY® & MOONLIT ROSE® GRANITE Blue Sky Quarry Aerial View Blue Sky Quarry Blocks are quarried at our Carlton, Georgia quarry are shipped via rail to our East Otis, Massachuse Blue Sky Quarry Aerial View 1/6 Our Carlton, Georgia property is the site of two quarries that produce some of our most popular granites: Williams Blue Sky Gray and Moonlit Rose. These quarries sit on a vein of natural granite which has been estimated by the USGS to be over two miles deep and eight miles wide. Williams Blue Sky is a light gray, tightly grained stone having consistent color and exceptional splitting characteristics. Moonlit Rose is a buff to light pink, tightly grained granite with infrequent black and white waves. It is very popular for ornamental curbing, dimensional stonework, landscape amenities and paving applications. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCTION AND TRANSPORTATION The raw material from our Georgia quarries is shipped to our East Otis facility by rail rather than via truck, meaning our granite is an even greener alternative to competitive products like concrete or asphalt.     Ideal for Erosion Protection and HD Paving Application GRANITE PAVERS < Back HEAVY DUTY PAVING BLOCK IDEAL FOR EROSION PROTECTION & HD PAVING APPLICATIONS Williams Stone Heavy-Duty Paving Blocks are designed for erosion protection on slopes, including under bridge overpasses, as well as for curb edging and heavy duty paving applications that must be able to withstand even heavy vehicular traffic. These extremely durable paving blocks are so strong they can be recycled and used again on future projects. SIZING Dimensions are 6-inches thick by 15- to 17-inches long by 11- to 13-inches wide. Heavy-Duty Paving Blocks weigh 85 pounds per square foot, yield 27 square feet per ton and are palletized for convenient shipment. FINISH Our Heavy-Duty Paving Blocks are made from all-natural, environmentally friendly, gray granite quarried and fabricated in the United States. In fact, if what we need isn’t commercially available, we will design and fabricate it ourselves. This has made its production operation in East Otis, Massachusetts one of the most modern in the granite curbing and landscape industry. These innovations, coupled with our team of skilled craftsmen, result in an efficient, high quality production process, allowing for extremely efficient production of both standard and custom curbing, superior quality—at extremely competitive cost. MANUFACTURING FACILITY - EAST OTIS, MA TOUR THE PROCESS & PRODUCTION Large cranes are used to place granite slabs on roller beds. Roller beds lead into hydraulic splitters that snap of curbing to the desired specifications. Our custom machinery is used to load finished curbing pieces into inventory or prepare for delivery. The 600 kW unit powers our entire East Otis, MA manufacturing complex with clean, renewable energy. Installed in 2009 at a cost of $1.7 million, it stands 292 feet to the tip of the rotor blade. This investment will provide an estimated annual savings of $172,000 and pay for itself in six to eight years. It also significantly reduces our carbon footprint, making our all natural granite curbing an even more ecologically friendly product for your projects.
