Availability of some finishes may depend on the style specified. Surface Finish Options Granite Color Options ROCK FACE Hand chiseled to create a relief finish (landscape items only). CLEAN BACK Protrusions greater than 1/4-inch are removed using hand tools to create a tighter tolerance for when pavers are abutted to curb. SAWN FACE The face of the curb has a smooth finish created by saw cutting. SAWN TOP Most common; Slabs for curb are typically sawn top and bottom; the top of the curb has a smooth finish created by saw cutting. SAWN BACK Provides the tightest tolerance for when pavers are abutted to curb. SPLIT FACE A machine split face; Created when the slab is split on a guillotine. THERMAL TOP Fine stipple finish for aesthetic look or traction in pedestrian areas. Slab is processed through a thermaling machine, then split or sawn into curb. FOR CURBING PROJECTS CURB EDGE DETAIL OPTIONS There are five edge detail options that may be requested on Williams Stone curbing products (excluding sloped curb). BEVELED MOUNTABLE EDGE 45-degree chamfer is standard, 3" x 3", 4" x 4", or 5" x 5". ROUNDED EDGE One or both edges are chamfered and then rounded off to 1/2-inch or greater radius. CHAMFERED EDGE 45-degree bevel is standard, 1/2", 3/4" or 1". STRAIGHT EDGE Standard straight edges. BUZZED EDGE 1/4-inch bullnose (rounded, not beveled). Edge Detal Options JOINT TYPES AVAILABLE CURB JOINT OPTIONS The type of joint describes the manner in which curbing pieces fit together. In addition to standard joints, Williams Stone Company offers two additional types. See below availability and descriptions. JOINT TYPE STRAIGHT CURB CURVED CURB SLOPED CURB BRIDGE CURB MITERED JOINT ✓ ✓ ✓ FULL JOINT ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ STANDARD JOINT ✓ ✓ MITERED JOINT An angled cut, top to bottom, allowing the end of one curb piece to butt into the face of another curb (landscape only). FULL JOINT A straight cut with 90-degree angles at top and bottom. STANDARD JOINT A straight 90-degree cut, with each bottom corner knocked off to aid installation and provide a point to mortar one curb to another. Joint Options

OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITIES ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION OPERATIONS MODERN, EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING Since it was founded in 1947, the Williams Stone Company has continued to invest in the most advanced equipment available. In fact, if what we need isn’t commercially available, we will design and fabricate it ourselves. This has made its production operation in East Otis, Massachusetts one of the most modern in the granite curbing and landscape industry. These innovations, coupled with our team of skilled craftsmen, result in an efficient, high quality production process, allowing for extremely efficient production of both standard and custom curbing, superior quality—at extremely competitive cost. MANUFACTURING FACILITY - EAST OTIS, MA TOUR THE PROCESS & PRODUCTION Large cranes are used to place granite slabs on roller beds. Roller beds lead into hydraulic splitters that snap of curbing to the desired specifications. Our custom machinery is used to load finished curbing pieces into inventory or prepare for delivery. Our established a network of transportation companies can ship our products anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States at competitive prices. Williams Stone also offers nationwide containerized rail shipping of all its granite products to anywhere there is a regional intermodal terminal, saving thousands of dollars in shipping costs over conventional shipping via truck. EAST OTIS COMPLEX POWERED BY WIND TURBINE POWERED BY RENEWABLE ENERGY East Otis Complex Aerial View Wind Turbine at East Otis Complex East Otis Complex Aerial View East Otis Complex Aerial View 1/5 We are proud to be the second company in the Berkshires to have a commercial-scale wind turbine. The 600 kW unit powers our entire East Otis, MA manufacturing complex with clean, renewable energy. Installed in 2009 at a cost of $1.7 million, it stands 292 feet to the tip of the rotor blade. This investment will provide an estimated annual savings of $172,000 and pay for itself in six to eight years. It also significantly reduces our carbon footprint, making our all natural granite curbing an even more ecologically friendly product for your projects.
